NEW: Taking the Mystery Out of Team Classification in Alabama

Alabama USSSA Baseball is committed to transparency and fairness. Moving forward, team classification will be simple, consistent, and 100% based on performance – no more guessing, and no more using classification as punishment.

How Classification Will Work

For 8U-12U:

• Teams in each age group will be ranked by overall win-loss record.

• Top 20% → AAA

• Next 40% → AA

• Bottom 40% → A

For 7U:

• Top 60% → AA

• Bottom 40% → A

For 6U and all 60/90 divisions:

• All teams will be classed as AA

When Classification Happens

Classification updates will take place on:

• April 1

• May 12

We may make minor adjustments over the next couple of weeks, but no major reclassing will occur until April 1 and May 12.

Tournament Division Offerings

• February & March: A and Open divisions

• April: A, AA, and Open divisions
  Teams may always choose to play up in a higher division.
