8U Kid Pitch – Rule Highlights

Official rules can be found here.
8U Kid Pitch is Rule 11 on page 10. Below are key highlights:

• 60’ base paths
• Pitching distance: 40’
• 75-minute time limit
• 7-run limit per inning
• 9 defensive players on the field
• Baserunners may not leave the base until the pitch reaches home plate
• Runner on 3rd may only advance on a ball put in play or a base award
• Batter is out on strike three, even if the pitch is not caught

POINTS RACE

The POINTS RACE isn’t over! As part of our commitment to LEVELING UP, we are continuing the POINTS RACE throughout the spring/summer season for the 1^st time ever in Alabama! Points Champions in every division will be awarded champion rings after the final event of the 2026 season in July.

We have several opportunities to earn BONUS POINT MULTIPLIERS.

April 11 weekend – Battleground Super Regional: WAR ZONE will be a DOUBLE POINT tourney at all locations!

May 2 weekend – Cinco de Mayo NIT – This popular event sold out early last year, and it’s back and even better this year as a USSSA NIT event which means up to 6X POINTS!

May 16 weekend – Battleground Super Regional: THE GAUNTLET will be another chance to earn DOUBLE POINTS!

May 15-17 – EASTON HYPE SUPER REGIONAL NIT! This event is 1 of only 8 offered in the entire country! A rare chance to earn 12X POINTS!!

May 30 weekend – The Diamond Cup Alabama State Tournament – The PREMIERE state tournament in Alabama for 10 consecutive years and a chance to earn 20X POINTS!!

June 26-28 – Battleground World Series: THE LAST STAND – This massive event will be held in 2 of the top locations in the entire southeast – Sand Mountain Park in Albertville and Elmore County at 17 Springs and the NEW TURF at Wetumpka. THE LAST STAND is your last chance to earn a BONUS MULTIPLIER of 30X POINTS!!!

10th Anniversary of The Diamond Cup – State Tournament

May 30-31 • Birmingham Area

The biggest event of the season is returning for its 10th Anniversary-and your team can be part of it!

How to Qualify

It’s simple:

Play a minimum of 3 USSSA events during the 2026 season.
The 2026 season began in August, so fall events count toward your 3-tournament minimum.

That’s it. No complicated requirements. No favoritism. No unrealistic hoops to jump through.

Qualify for The Battleground World Series: THE LAST STAND

Want a spot in one of the most exciting events of the summer?
Your team needs to play in the State Tournament-and you’re in.
Just one requirement. Easy.

IMPORTANT PAYMENT UPDATE – Effective Dec. 10

Beginning December 11, team entry fees may ONLY be paid by:

Cash or check at the park

Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, and similar payment apps will no longer be accepted for team entry.
